AVG (http://free.grisoft.com/) has been around for several years, works excellently and won't eat up computer resources. Norton and McAffee include lots of uncessary features that simply take up memory and hard drive space and cause your computer to work slower.

Try AVG. It's free.

You can't get much cheaper than that.
Norton Antivirus

(in my opinion)
Avast - very good and FREE!
spyware detector...
McAfee 10in1 internet security, (if you are in uk) comet, pc world, currys circa 拢45

DO NOT USE NORTON unless you work for them! let me put it this way.....you build a house, you put your friends %26 family in then put a dog at the door, the dog will alert you to intruders, (chase them away) [that's what McAfee does]

you build your house, put your friends %26family in then put an alligator at the door, the alligator will eat the intruders, then turn round %26 eat your friends %26family.(that's what NORTON does)
Nod32 - its the best.
norton is good... but there are free stuff online. The university I attend requires us to have "AVG" so it must be pretty good...and its FREE!
