bought winantivirus2006, it doesnt do the job. pornographic popups, etc...even my yahoo email page gets stuff i dont like in the upper portion where advertisements are placed

The best out there right now is Spysweeper. However it sounds like you need multiple applications. As an example: Spysweeper mainly for spyware, Ewido for trojans, Anti-vir for viruses and Webwasher for popups,scripts,etc. Or you might want to try out just Prevx.

I find for non commercial use that the free programs work better than the ones you pay for. There are several good choices explained at

don't buy any! There are plenty of good free ones. Try download.com. The recommendation is to have 4 anti-spywares running. And the free ones worked just as well as the ones you buy. Right now I'm using Spybot, SuperAntiSpyware, Spyware Guard, Spyware Blaster, %26 Spyware Terminator...this is all along w/ the McAfee that I got w/ my internet provider. ;)
