Kaspersky (KAV) has almost 100% virus detection rate. The free ones like AVG and Avast will miss about 1 in every 10 viruses. Like everything, you get what you pay for.

DO NOT USE NORTON OR MCAFEE!!! Use AVG for virus and ad-aware for everything else..Trust me, my sister is married to and IS%26T guy for a major corp. He has been dealing with comps for 20 plus years and he says Norton and MCAFEE are the worst!
