it could be a virus that is in a program required for the running of the comptuer. you could try repairing it by inserting the disc and telling it to reinstall the main programs

Is it a free version, If it is, then Etrust Aantivirus wont protect your computor varry much. Happened to me once, but i had Norton Antivirus.
try booting in safe mode and running a scan again. Make sure your av is up to date. Do a google on the virus detected and how to remove it
