I have Yahoo antivirus scheduled to run. It takes 7-8 hrs to complete. Is this a problem?

I have Windows XP, Yahoo DSL, and my computer was new in 2005. It use to take only 4 hours to complete a "full scan". No viruses are found. Regularly, I run my AntiSpy programs (Adaware, Spybot S%26D, Windows Defender, and Yahoo AntiSpy). Nothing was found. I've deleted old music and video files. I regularly defrag. What else should I do?

and also this might be the reason! in 2005 you might have bought a comp with 256mb ram! now win xp needs 512mb ram to run smooth so upgrading your ram modules to max possible configuration will be an option to speedup your system!

go here and run a test

Wow, that's way too long for a virus scan. 1-2 hours is more appropriate. I would suggest switching to different one. These are free:

AVG Free

PC Tools AntiVirus

Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic

.
Wow that's a long time to scan. Mine I bought 1 year ago and it takes about 1/2 an hour to scan. I use Webroot Spy Sweeper and I use Trend Micro Antivirus. Both take about a 1/2 hour each.
