becouse it's protect anything and if you install norton antivirus at the first minutes you install windows.and everytime be update.you can sure never no virus or worm or spy or anything come for you.but when that software protect anything(not like other antiviruses)then give more memory space and more speed.

Unfortunately, that's a draw back of Norton and Firefox. I love Firefox but some compatibility issue with other third party software causes a slow down. The best way is to make sure all your windows are closed when you update and if you can, just restart your computer when you are done (after an update). That way your Firefox and all your computer settings can reset and you should be set.

Just an inconvenience you work around, Sorry.

My laptop is a little older, and Norton slowed it down considerably, especially when updating. I recommend Avast! It's free and memory-efficient.
Norton 2007 has been completely re-done and now uses a very reasonable amount of computer resources.

Norton 2003-2006 were huge resource hogs that would slow all but top-of-the-line machines down.
I hear that nortons will slow down your whole machine
