Do you use antivirus software on your Mac?

Is it worth it or is the risk so low you shouldn't bother?

Do you use antivirus software on your Mac?anti virus software

Once there's some sort of virus/trojan/malware that can infect a Mac without relying on the stupidity of the end user (i.e. - downloaded applications that exploit a minor OS weakness), I really don't think it's worth the bother.

There are almost no viruses or trojans, and anyway, my mac is running well after running all sorts of risky operations in the last year. Macs come with a built in antivirus and firewall, so I wouldnt bother. There is one free antivirus that works, ClamXav. Oh, and download Firefox. Firefox is better for virus protection. If you have Firefox, download Macafee web advisor. It is free, and tells you what sites have viruses or sell your email to spammers.
No need.

No viruses for OS X

Just a couple of variants of the Quicktime Porn site trojan which you have to install with admin password to get it to work.

When you click on the porn video to watch it, a message pops up telling you that you don't have the latest version of Quicktime and to download it from the site %26gt; gives you a .dmg package to install%26gt;requires admin password hint: only place to get Quicktime is Apple.com
