iam using symantec anti virus software. the scan history shows several scanning process going on. i was told to unload service so that whatever process is going on, it will stop.but the reply i got was scanning going on so cannot unload service.
so i tried to uninstall the software and install it again. but there was some error and then from the add or remove program the software disappeared. but its still in the program files list.
what to do.please help me. my system performance is tooooooooooo slow. i know there are viruses in the system.my task manager has been disabled.
please help me.

Nortons is dynamite, the tales of woes and catastrophes connected wit it are legendary.
Symantec are supposed to have a program on their site for completely un-installing their product. I suggest you downlaod this,runit and get rid of every scrap of the it and then think real hard as to whether you want to put it back on your machine.
Once you have got rid of it, go to one of the online virus scanners and have your machine cleaned of any nasties.
If it came with your machine I'd ditch it. If you had the misfortune to pay good money for it I'd troll their websites and forums before putting it back on.
