will avg stop virus, trojans ect. from infecting my pc of just clean them when they are on my pc

I agree, AVG is good. I also use the AVG spyware but you have to remember to update it manually and run it manually.

To be honest trojans virus is a very strong viruse giving by hackers the best way to remove it is to recover your system I am prettey sure about it even if you use Northon or any otherr anti viruse program.

You recover your system if you your recovery system CD or DVD from your computer companey.

AVG is a great free anti-virus program. It is far less intrusive on your system than the programs from the big companies and quite efficient - though there is no figures to say if it is any more total in its work.

Every anti-virus program can be beaten by the arrival of a new virus until it has been detected, reported and included in the database updates. AVG give regular updates so your risk is minimal.

I have found that some of the bigger programs can get so aggressive on your system that it slows down internet access to a crawl. One client of mine insisted that I installed an expensive anti-virus package (naming no names) and, a week later, asked me to remove it because it made his machine unusable. AVG replaced it and he was hardly aware that it was there.

One thing I do recommend with using AVG - do a reboot immediately after installing new software so that it forces a scan upon it.
