How is McAfee antivirus program rated?

Mcafee and Norton have gone downhill over the years and I'm not really sure why unless it's just general laziness with quality after leading the pack for so many years. The new leaders on the block seem to be nod32, avg and kaspersky.

They all have many good user reviews and it's the user reviews that matter most because they are the one's who've had to deal with the success and failures of these programs.

McAfee and Norton are both crap. AVG is a good freeware antivirus. Best freeware antivirus is AviraAntiVir. If you really want the best antivirus out there, then go with Kaspersky. That is Kaspersky, Kaspersky, Kaspersky!!!. Well worth paying a few bucks for. And the best free firewall is Comodo. And if you want to pay a few extra bucks for the best firewall in the universe, then go with BlackIce. Just do not use McAfee or Norton. If you do not know what you are doing, then they are a real pain to get rid of.

McAfee antivirus is one among the leading anti virus software and the others are Norton Anti virus and the trend micro systems. The leading freeware is AVG anti virus for home users and this one is also equally good but comes little behind the above three leaders.
Its not a so good software. Use Kaspersky antivirus which is most high rated. If you want a free one AVG is quite good.
IMHO it would never be put on a system I own due to past problems it caused.
Honestly haing used McAfee and seen others use it, pardon the expression it is a **** program which hogs the RAm and slows the system which wouldn't be a superbad thing if it kept your pc clean, advice use norton, you pay for wat u get and nortons well worth it!
