I have AVG antivirus Free edition, but my computer is always showing the check security settings ico

The security settings show that i need an anti-virus, but I ALREADY HAVE AVG! its bothering me, so please tell me how to fix it

Yeah, like other person said, you might need to update/fix your AVG, but if you want it to stop pestering you, click the red shield icon to bring up the security center, for virus protection, click recomendations, and check the "I have an AV program I'll monitor myself."

change to avast (avast.com). My cousin (tech) loves it. AVG seems a bit weak.
Uninstall AVG........
